Product Details
Voit upstream 50 Fathom valve system. This was Voit's MIstral and is more rare than the mistral. This valve will fit in almost any single stage can made by US Divers or Voit.
The Voit upstream single stage valve assembly is based upon the US Divers Mistral system. The Voit design differs in that it uses a sliding plate to control the height of the levers. This is done by loosening the four screws and moving the plate until the proper adjustment has been made.
Voit used this upstream system in two distinct models, both being introduced in 1962. The V55 Voit Blue 50 Fathom used the blue plastic casing. The label was divided by a vertical line with the left side reading “Voit AMF”, and the right being “BLUE FIFTY FATHOM”. The other model being the V22 Voit Polaris 50. That label read “polaris 50 AMF Voit”. It had a horizontal line dividing the label bisecting the “50”.
When servicing the assembly, a standard Mistral high pressure valve is used, along with the same o-ring (-006), and body gasket.
Bryan Pennington, founder of Vintage Double Hose, was fond of calling the Mistral valve the “AK47” of scuba regulators, due to its inherent rugged, utterly dependable design.
