30'06 rounds from the USS Schurz Shipwreck Photo Gallery
The USS Schurz was lost off the coast of
North Carolina in 1918. I found these and more 30'06 rounds on brass
stripper clips in June 2001. i found most of the items under the decking
of the collapsed ship in the bow section near the capstan.
The ship before she was sunk.
Brass stripper clips up close. Had they been steel clips they would not be around today after the salt water bath of over 80 years.
